University leadership and community members recently gathered for the Campus of the Future Student Idea Showcase, highlighting student-led proposals to shape U-M’s educational future. The showcase drew 734 initial submissions and culminated April 10 at Michigan Stadium, where five finalists presented to university leaders and 10 semifinalists shared poster projects.
Key themes included reducing friction through more centralized, AI-enabled support; improving everyday campus experiences (from transit reliability and campus safety to study spaces and upcycling efforts); and strengthening belonging, connection, and well-being.
Next steps include follow-up support for finalists through the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and exploration of a new course to help students further develop their concepts.
