This is an oral history interview with civil rights lawyer John Boston, conducted virtually by Michigan Law 2L Liz Lewis on April 7, 2023, and April 13, 2023. This interview includes discussion of the many prisoners' rights cases that Attorney Boston worked on during his career with the Prisoners' Rights Project at The Legal Aid Society, including cases addressing overcrowding, violence, and inadequate mental health care, and other issues related to the conditions of confinement in New York City's jails and New York's state prisons.
